Internships
The Internship Program in the Department of Mathematics is governed by the relevant decisions of the General Assemblies no. 484 / 26-11-2008, 523 / 20-10-2010 and 547 / 8-02- 2012. The Department of Mathematics Scientific Advisor for the purpose of Internships is Apostolos Batsidis, Assistant Professor.
The Internship can only be undertaken if it is declared as an Optional Course, and at the request of the interested students, online at http://www.gpa.uoi.gr, or at the Internship Unit of the University of Ioannina, on specific dates which are announced every academic year. For the Department of Mathematics, the responsibility of selecting students to take part in the Internship, as well as pairing the selected students with the Internship sites, lies with the Internship Committee of the Department.
The usual duration of a Student Internship is two months and is supervised by a faculty member of the Department. The outcome of the Internship for each student is evaluated by the supervising faculty member. The Faculty Supervisor grades the student for their performance during the Internship and submits the grade to the Scientific Advisor.
The grade of the Internship counts in the overall grade point average of the degree but does not affect the number of teaching credits or ECTS credits required to obtain the degree.
